Saratoga Living
Saratoga (located in Santa Rose County, CA) has
a population of almost 33,000 and Money Magazine has included
the City of Saratoga as number 26 in its annual "Best Places
to Live" survey.
Originally a community of summer cottages built in and around

Between 1980 and 1990, Saratoga added
approximately 700 housing units, over 80% as single-family

premier estate. Few rentals are available in Saratoga.
According to the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, the
2003 median price of a condominium / townhouse was $495,000,
and the median price of a house was $1,190,000.
Saratoga
students are served by seven school districts in an around the
City of Saratoga and includes a total of 38 public schools.
The City of Saratoga is an attractive
residential community with excellent schools and unique
characteristics. The community has a historic downtown
district, "Saratoga Village," or "The Village" with
distinctive dining and unique shops.
Saratoga’s Mediterranean-like climate is
typical of coastal northern California with year-round mild
temperatures. The average temperatures May to October are
50-90 degrees, and November to April temperatures are 40-65
degrees. Rainfall averages 29 inches annually and usually
occurs between November and April. Humidity is moderate to
low. Winds are generally from a southerly direction in winter
and a northwesterly direction in the summer.
Saratoga is also is home to
Villa Montalvo, the former home of
Senator James Duval Phelan which is host to a art gallery, an
artist in residence program, concert performances and park
trails and grounds. Additionally, the
Mountain Winery in the Saratoga
foothills features world-class concerts each spring and
summer.
Hakone Gardens, a
City park operated by the Hakone Foundation, is the oldest
Japanese-style residential gardens in the Western Hemisphere.
